Aloha team,

What a day on the North Shore! I want to extend my deepest congratulations to every Lōkahi paddler who took on the challenge at the Haleiwa Canoe Club Regatta this past Saturday. Racing at Haleiwa brings a unique energy and conditions, and you all rose to the occasion with incredible heart and strength.

I am thrilled to announce the big news: Lōkahi finished in a tie for 2nd place in Division A! This is our best divisional ranking of the season and a massive testament to our club's progress and competitive fire. We put a total of 28 points on the board, proving that we are a force to be reckoned with in our division.

Our master's crews were on fire, bringing home three medals from some incredibly tight races:

  • Men 70: Battled to a fantastic 2nd place finish, earning a silver medal.
  • Men 60: Also had a powerful race, securing a 2nd place finish and another silver medal.
  • Men Novice A: Continued their impressive season by fighting for a 3rd place podium spot and a bronze medal.

The success of the day was truly a full-club effort. Twelve of our crews completed their races, and many more battled for crucial points that led to our high ranking. Let’s also recognize the grit of our other point-scoring crews:

  • Women Junior: 4th place
  • Men 40: 4th place
  • Men 65: 5th place
  • Men Senior: 5th place
  • Men Open Four: 5th place
  • Women Open Four: 6th place
  • Mixed 40: 6th place

This result is a clear sign of our growing consistency and adaptability. Moving up in the divisional standings is a significant achievement and shows that we perform when it counts. Let's carry this fire and momentum into the second half of the season.

Imua Lōkahi!
