Climbing the Ranks! Lōkahi's Season-Best Performance at Windward Kai

Aloha Lōkahi,
This past Saturday at the Windward Kai Canoe Club Regatta was a massive step forward for our club. The conditions were challenging, but you met that challenge with incredible power and determination. I want to personally congratulate every paddler for a truly outstanding day of racing.
The results speak for themselves. We have officially hit our stride, putting together our best collective performance of the season. We rocketed up the standings to finish 3rd in our division with a season-high 32 points! Our points-per-race average jumped to an impressive 2.9, proving that our crews are not just competing but are consistently finishing near the top.
Let's give a huge round of applause to our medal winners!
- Men 70: Continuing their fantastic season, this crew battled to a 2nd place finish, earning a silver medal!
- Men Novice A: Proving their hard work is paying off, they fought hard for a 3rd place finish and a bronze medal!
- Women Junior: In a tough junior race, they earned a well-deserved 3rd place and a bronze medal!
Strength Across the Board
What is most exciting is that this success wasn't limited to a few crews; we saw improvements across the entire club. We had an incredible four crews finish in the highly competitive 4th place spot:
- Men 65
- Women Open Four
- Men Open Four
- Men 40
Furthermore, several crews made significant leaps from the previous regatta. Our Mixed Men and Women 40 crew jumped from 11th to a point-scoring 5th place, and our Men Senior crew also battled for a crucial 5th place finish. This shows that our training is translating into race-day speed for everyone.
Our Next Focus
While we celebrate this incredible achievement, we also look at where we can get even better. We had two crews scratch this weekend. Our goal is always to have zero scratches. It is a testament to our club's strength when we can get every single registered crew to the starting line. Let's double down on our communication and logistics to make sure we are there for our teammates.
I am immensely proud of the progress we have made. The momentum is undeniable. Let's bring this energy tomorrow, continue to push each other, and get ready to climb even higher.
Imua Lōkahi!
